Evening all...

I'm new to this board, so advance apologies are in order from me if I am retreading already trod ground

With respoct to IBM's increasing "mindshare" as an internet/e-commerce provider, is there anybody on this board aware of their affiliation with WAVX, both historically [agreement last December to work with WAVE Systems to make the WAVE metering/encryption chip an industry standard], and in the future. Appparantly, there is an announcement tomorrow, transcript from NBR [Friday] as follows:

"On Monday, IBM will announce a major breakthrough in an encryption system. The company says it has the first practical mathematically proven way to secure information from Internet hacking attempts. Those attacks on current encryption methods have called into question the security of everything from credit card transactions to the Fed wire system."

Input would be appreciated on how IBM is dealing with the security side of e-commerce.

Thanks

Tony

[For what it's worth, I don't believe the "mathematically proven way to secure information from Internet hacking attempts." line. ANYTHING can be broken with tnough horsepower
