This is not good news, not as bad as Peerless fire however..Scott Operations to continue despite fire Goodfellow Inc GDL Shares issued 4,084,627 Aug 21 close $9.00 Mon 24 Aug 98 News Release Mr. Richard Goodfellow reports A fire at Goodfellow's Montreal facility during the weekend has destroyed a building housing equipment, but has not affected any saleable inventory. No one was injured in the fire and there are not expected to be any layoffs as a result of the incident. The blaze, at the main Delson, Quebec complex, was contained to a single structure which housed eight drying kilns, the company's main power source, a garage and a cafeteria. The company is fully insured for the loss. No estimate of the damage was immediately available. Power was restored during the weekend. Full milling operations will be back to normal by mid week. The main concern now is to replace the lost drying capacity. The company is looking at alternate arrangements for an interim period. Construction on new drying facilities will commence just as soon as the company gets the go ahead from its insurers.
