Jim, the Stochastic is a technical indicator designed to fluctuate between 0 and 100. Reference lines are drawn on the scale at 20 percent and 80 percent levels to mark overbought and oversold areas. When the Stochastic moves above the upper reference line, it shows the stock is overbought or too high, i.e. ready to turn down. If the Stochastic moves below the lower reference line it shows that the stock is oversold or too low, i.e. ready to turn up. As I indicated in my previous post, MINI has hit the bottom of the scale (0) on 4 occasions since December, the last time being on Friday. On the 3 previous dates it rebounded strongly within a few days.
