Scott, you and Kemble have touched on a very central aspect of DELL's success. Beyond the model, there is a deeply entrenched culture within DELL that has the ability to sustain the company for a very long time, even without proper tweaking (from time to time).

I'd like to take it a step further and point out, too, that DELL's management is not just one man. It is a core group of very talented managers.

I read a good description of the relationship between Mort Topfer and Michael Dell. The analogy was that Mort acted as the trunk to Michael's tree of ideas.

Michael remains a techo-savvy entrepreneur, and Mort (along with Kevin Rollins) brings Michael's ideas and vision to fruition.

Regards,

LoD
