Press Release #98-06

DRILLING SHOWS ANNEX SYSTEM CONTINUES TO DEPTH

* Drilling extends Annex continuity to over 1200 feet
* Zone is steeper than originally anticipated
* New interpretation suggests a fifth zone
* New intersection shows Prospect dolomite unit remains a secondary target

The recently completed drill program at Redhawk's Remac Project was successful in extending the Annex sulphide system another 700 feet downplunge from the discovery hole, 87-1. The Annex system now has a total of 1200 feet of downplunge continuity. The system remains open to further down plunge extension in this fault block.

Combining the new information from this program with available historic mine data from the adjoining Reeves MacDonald mine, it now appears the Annex Zone is plunging steeper than anticipated. As a result, only hole 87-1A intersected the ore portion of the Annex Zone. Holes 98-1 and 98-1A appear to have intersected the strongly mineralized Annex system just west of the ore zone. The zone continues to dip 60 degrees southerly.

Hole 87-1A, the first hole in the 1998 program, was drilled as a wedge off the discovery hole, 87-1, and successfully intersected the Annex ore zone 50 feet above 87-1. Hole 87-1A is interpreted as being in the western portion of the Annex ore zone west of 87-1 (see schematic). Technical difficulties caused Redhawk to not attempt any further wedges off this hole.

The results of the drilling are below:

Hole Intersection(ft) Zinc(%) Lead (%) Silver (oz/ton)
87-1A 33.7 7.61 0.7 1.57
including 14.7 10.13 1.5 2.47
98-1 42.4 3.35 0.1 0.13
98-1A 35.8 4.75 0.29 0.22
including 11.6 7.5 0.26 0.21

Hole 98-1 was then drilled 700 feet downplunge of 87-1, and is interpreted as being in the Annex mineralized system west of the ore zone. Several mineralized sections were encountered up hole in the Prospect Dolomite unit, with the best intersection being 13.7% zinc over 3.7 feet. Previous Dolomite intersections include 8.24% zinc over 11.8 feet.

Hole 98-1A was wedged off to a point 100 feet above the intersection in hole 98-1, and is also interpreted as being west of the ore zone and hole 98-1.

All intersections are approximately 90% of true width (see schematic longitudinal section). All samples were transported to Chemed Labs in North Vancouver B.C. where they were prepared and analyzed.

Because the structures in this block appears to be plunging more steeply than originally thought management now believes that hole previously drilled 88-1 is not in the Annex Zone, but may represent a previously undetected zone of mineralization, a possible fifth zone, which now warrants further testing on its own. Hole 88-1 is 400 feet west of hole 87-1.
