Bravo, Frank. The whole FO world is like trickle-down economics with dozens of sources; the more capacity in glass, the more the semiconductor folks go nuts making detectors, photodiodes, etc; the more capability in the detectors/receivers, the more the source and sink devices can carry; the more the source and sink devices can carry, the more processing power it takes to control the higher speed protocols to take advantage of the bandwidth; the more protocol layer activity occurs, the more complex things get for compatibility and transport; the more complex things get, the more software is involved; the more software is involved, the more engineers are involved; the more software engineers are involved, the more troubleshooting takes place; the more troubleshooting takes place, the more test equipment is designed, built, sold and deployed; the more test equipment deployed the more people need to be trained on it; the more people that need to be trained, the more instructors we need; the more instructors we need, the more engineers need to be found to replace those that go into training and "consulting."
I don't see an end to any of this!
