Some serious poopiness abroad late in the session, eh? I'd say--but it's just a guess--that the Fed won't change margin requirements. Don't see any reason why they should do so (especially when they've been asked repeatedly to do it in the other direction, which I think would be a poor idea), but then I'm not Uncle Alan. Think you could be right about the FOMC meeting; there usually are jitters in advance even when everybody knows perfectly well that nothing's gonna happen. And then there's the retail sales number: we'll be unhappy if Christmas stuff looks bad, and unhappy if it looks good.

But we've got a chance at a rallyette tomorrow, maybe: NYSE ticks recovering at the end, and Daq ticks well into positive territory. We'll see what the futures market does overnight, though it doesn't seem to have much of an effect for more than the first half-hour or so of trading.
