A significant surface exploration program was undertaken on Major General
and Ascot's two million acre Victoria Island property. Work consisted of
detailed helicopter-borne geophysics, till sampling, glacial mapping and
visual site inspections of the target areas. This work was undertaken after
the previously announced drilling program that resulted in the discovery of
five kimberlites.
A total of 185 till samples, which are currently in for processing, were
collected from ten geophysical targets and four areas of indicator mineral
anomalies. In addition, helicopter borne geophysical surveys totalling
1,545 line kilometres were flown over nine target sites.
Monopros advises that processing of kimberlite from the drill program is
still under way and microdiamond results will be available in several
weeks.
Based on the favourable results encountered thus far, Major General and
Ascot Resources have recently staked an additional 160,000 acres that are
adjacent to the Victoria Island property. All of the claims that fall
within 5 kilometres of Victoria Island property boundary are subject to the
Monopros agreement.
