Elroy, it's not really as you've stated it. It's "a" component division...not LU's "xDSL component division"...at least that's the way I read it.

"Lucent's signal transformer business manufactures xDSL, ISDN, modem, broadband and power magnetic components for both original- equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Lucent customers. These products are manufactured primarily in Matamoros, Mexico."

LU still has a very good chip for xDSL, which is based on AWRE's DMT technology, and I'm sure (no doubt) other components used in the systems for xDSL.
