I think America is too preoccupied right now with:
1. Summer vacation coming to an end/school beginning
2. Clinton, Starr, Lewinsky etc.
3. Terrorism
to be thinking about Y2K.

To get the Y2K sector moving again will take:
1. Media attention that preempts the above preoccupations
2. A tragic event related to a Y2K failure
3. A Y2K company that hits a home run

ALYD will only be singled out of the Y2K crowd if:
1. They hit a home run
2. They put forth a clear and concise post Y2K strategy and announce a related acquisition
3. They continue to show strong earnings
4. They launch a major advertising campaign to get their name out
5. They get publicity on shows like CNBC

When Time Magazine lists Y2K as one "thing we're looking forward to making fun of" right along side "The new Olsen twins show" and "Dan Quayle's next campaign", I get rather discouraged. When I hear that organizations are telling their employees not to claim they will be Y2K "compliant" but, rather, Y2K "operable", I get worried. But, if investing is buy when they sell and sell when they buy, I finally think we've got the timing right (g).
