Zoltan--To add to the discussion and broaden the perspective a bit, I quote from a New Yorker article I found cleaning out my library.(I am in no way excusing Clinton for what he has done)
It is an article titled "Prompting the President" by Michael Korda from the October 6, l997 issue. Korda, as editor for Simon and Shuster was ask to bring together Reagan's memoirs. There are several vignettes in the article about how Reagan fabricated stories. Here is one: "He had the ability, rare even among actors, to convince a listener that something had happened the way he told it when it hadn't, and this was because he believed it with complete sincerity himself.(sure) Thus we had to convince Reagan not to include the story about how he had been with the United States Signal Corps at the German death camps and recorded the atrocities there(a story that he had told Yitzhak Shamir, bringing tears to Shamir"s eyes), because it turned out that Reagan had spent the entire war in Hollywood, recruiting personnel for Army film units. He had seen some footage taken by Army cinematographers of the liberated camps and had somehow convinced himself that he'd been there. There was not intent to deceive on his part--he was simply(sure) one of those born raconteurs who tell the same stories over and over again until they BECOME truth." The (sures) are my addition.

It is a fascinating article and worth looking up. Myron
