No, not really. To be quite honest, the number of posts and general excitement of this thread has been a contrarian indicator over the past few years. Just when everyone gets all excited, predicting a great move on the upside, the mighty Q will consolidate and vice versa; when it is quiet and folks get a little depressed, it will start it's way back up again. If you examine the charts over the last few quarters, you will see that the Q will begin a 10 to 20 percent upward move about 4 to 6 weeks prior to earnings release. Given the current market conditions , nothing is a given however.
New Topic...SPINCO...Has anyone heard anything more on the effective date for the distribution and also the Date of record for shareholders? If I understand the prospectus correctly, the spin off should insulate QCOM from many of the problems in Russia , CONGO etc by alleviating them of the infrastructure charges. I am also wondering that the Q may reconsider the split given the current market environment and instability of regions such as Russia and the Congo. Any info out there from those of you with greater insight than me?
