No, but I believe alfalfa competes with wheat as feed protein. You have two forces at work here... 1) Farmers grow alfalfa to feed cows, pigs, whatever. If nobody wants their cows anymore, they cut back on production, and don't consume as much alfalfa. 2) When other yummier grains get so cheap that they're practically giving them away, farmers substitute the yummier grains for alfalfa. 3) I'm probably wrong on both counts, but it sounds good to me and if you told a city boy on Wall Street this scenario, he'd probably believe it and dump said producer of alfalfa. Now turf is another story! 1) During depressions, Japanese businessmen can't afford to play golf anymore... Sorry to be such a smartass, but I loaded the boat today and am asking myself why the hell I did...you are all doomed! Cheers
