This hit the wires after the close today. Both companies did better than expected. Might give ANDW a boost tomorrow, might not. Apparently telecommunications products are still selling. Both companies did substantially better than last year Dave Superior Telecom Inc. (SUT) 34 3/4 -1/16: manufacturer of copper telecommunications wire and cable products posts a fiscal Q1 net of $0.79 a share, five cents ahead of the First Call estimate, vs year-ago profit of $0.59 a share; also Alpine Group Inc. (AGI) 17 1/4 +3/8: manufacturer of telecommunications wire and cable products posts a fiscal Q1 net of $0.32 a share, a penny better than the First Call consensus, vs year-ago profit of $0.26 a share
