I think Cisco maybe a wild card in this. I recall there was speculation earlier that Cisco might buy Tellabs after the Ciena deal closed. Based on what has been happening recently, I think Cisco buying Tlab is a much more likely possibility than before. That does not mean the Ciena deal is off. The Tlab board declined to comment after they meet today. The lack of comment means to me that the Tlab board is planning on talking to Ciena about the exchange ratio and/or maybe even Cisco before going forward. I know my idea about Cisco maybe unrealistic, but as I recall,Tlab and Cisco were planning on partnering on common customer needs so maybe there are more options out there than the market is currently considering. Regardless, I think tlab shareholders should be better off than the current price of the stock reflects. Good luck to all.
