Sorry, didn't "know" about this in advance.
You know me well enough that if I did know what would happen today, it would probably be followed by "good time to dump this dog!"
I merely know this stock, and this management, very well by this point. My "prediction" was not that someone would start a spam campaign stating a done deal as fact. Merely an observation that, to keep the stock price up, management of FAMH has often resorted to rumors (of planned deals, "audited profits", and mergers) that never come to fruition. If Arif did not actively start any of them, he certainly let them all slide.
My supposition was, and still is, that there will be "hints of good news" emanating from the company to keep the shareholders' interest until any solid numbers come out. ( When was that 1996 audit due...?)
I expect (should there be a conference call in the near future) to hear phrases like "we would be open to a merger", "we're always on the lookout for deals", "a takeover of FAMH is not out of the question", etc., etc. That's all I meant by my statement.
But nobody is going to pay $56 million for FAMH, or 10 cents for that matter, without the yet-to-be-completed 1997 audit, at the very least.
Regards, L.E.
P.S. I didn't know about ATXI off the top of my head. Ira supplied all the information (location of company, outstanding shares, Nasdaq listing, etc.) needed to give anyone willing to dig the chance to uncover ATXI.
And I wouldn't assume that anyone did this today for "chump change".. an awful lot of shares traded hands today. And no, I have no idea who. |
