Peter M.: I've often found in that situation that Senior's Rule of Mispick applies: Which is: whenever there is a choice of 2 or more stocks in an apparently undervalued industry, picking the most obviously undervalued company results in that company remaining the most undervalued (while the others will experience substantial rises in price.)
In this particular industry, rather than betting on one or the other or all manufacturers, I chose RDO, a company which is a distributor for several ag. manufacturers. Company also is in construction equip. (sales/leasing), and big trucks. Their goal is to be a national consolidator of local franchisees. RDO has not as appealing valuations now as NH or some of the others- but the offset might be its diversification and IMO, strong management. Paul Senior
