VNTV and SEBL wish they competed. SEBL wishes they were in customer service, and Vantive wishes they were in SFA. While both have product s in each other's turf, neither is seriously recommended outside of their core areas of competence. Undoubtedly SEBL intends to take PSFT away from VNTV as a partner long term, but it remains to be seen whether they can do so.

Nevertheless, this PSFT deal will undoubtedly be seen as v. positive for SEBL (possibly keeping the stock from hitting my target), and is not a great sign for VNTV. SEBL gained a new partner, while VNTV got a vote of confidence from an existing one (and that may be undermined some day.)
