I haven't posted here in quite a while.
A couple of years ago, I did a walkthrough Isis and asked what they thought of the idea of beating the antibiotic crisis with antisense. The woman who got the question waved her arms and spoke of "broad spectrum" issues and all that. Recently, I heard word of the notion that there are some plasmid segments that might prove useful in the application of antisense to bacterial pests.

Despite the value of the biotechs these days, I'm one who strongly believes that antisense will, indeed, become known as a magic bullet. I for one expect to add to my position in ISIP later this year. The play on the other chron's drug ended in the news that the Isis molecule really does deal with the need for steroids. Monoclonals are nice, but have they solved the requirement for murine molecules?
