CC,I don't think Clinton has been quite as impident [spelling, I know but I couldn't resist] with regards to the economy as you say.After all he bucked his own party and got NAFTA passed something the last two Republican Presidents could not do.He has worked hard with some success on the subject of free trade.Having said all that I readily admit that Greenspan is the most influential individual with regards to economic activity.But remember the president of course often has the power to influence Greenspan.Personaly I don't think Clinton has been too bad probably because I compare him to previous Presidents.Altho I have supported him on this thread I would never confuse him with a statesman.Unfortunatly we too often confuse a statesman with someone who exposes our own ideas. That is if a President were to produce on the environment, a womans' right to choose, and reverse the trend of eroding personal freedoms I would call him/her a statesman .As a Republican can you visualize a Democratic statesman?Perhaps, but I'll bet you must admit that it wasn't easy. Somehow I don't look to any President as a moral leader .More like some one with a job to .do.Perhaps in order to accomplish anything worthwhile within our system we need part politician all statesman.<What are we to do???>Indeed
