None of the above.I think he lied because of the political embarrassment that he believed would result if he admitted an adulterous affair.Selfish motive? you bet.He is a politician.they do have a reputation for lying.Find me one who doesn't and I'll show you one that hasn't been caught yet.Now I know that the sentence just made is not entirely true but you get the point. pez
