War will move over to the east. The air force of Angola and Zimbabwe will probably strike the eastern cities to make it possible to put down ground forces in that area. After that the Rwandan/rebel forces would be cut of from there home land. Will Rwanda/Uganda challenge this force or is it time for surrender and negotiations?
What will the South African's do now when they lost the initiative in the region? Anglo?

"HARARE, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Zimbabwe said on Tuesday it had inflicted heavy casualties on Rwandan-backed rebels trying to topple President Laurent Kabila of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and expected them to surrender within days.
Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) spokesman Colonel Chancellor Diye told a briefing that Congolese, Namibian and Zimbabwe forces defending the capital Kinshasa had destroyed a large number of rebel armoured cars, tanks and 20 trucks in fighting on Sunday.

''The SADC (Southern African Development Community) allied forces have made tremendous progress since deployment and we anticipate the Western front to be cleared shortly,'' Diye said in a statement read at the briefing.

With Angolan forces advancing from behind rebel lines from Kitona, Diye said the rebels had only two options: ''to surrender or receive heavy casualties.'' "

Gunnar
