MM: The NASD settlement rules are 3 BUSINESS days or "days the markets" are OPEN, holidays Saturday and Sunday dont count... so if you were to buy any stock issuing any type of Divs, you need to buy it 3 trading days before the Ex-Date so that the stock is in your account, at the end of the Ex date (about 4 pm EST)so that you get credited for the distribution.

Buying 1 or 2 days before the ex date doesnt count... YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE STOCK IN YOUR ACCOUNT OR NAME AT THE END OF THE TRADING DAY OF THE EX DATE.
