Lee: this market reminds me much more of 1973 than 1990. Now as then the broad market is getting smashed but a small group of grossly overvalued blue chip darlings continues to hold up well. Until these favorites get hit hard the market trend will remain down But once they take their lumps (Dow 7500 or so) the broader market should be able to rally strongly.
