My take is they got their hands spanked. Hopefully a bit older & wiser now. The august 24th edition of PC week has an interesting article on a simulation done with a remote control probe similar to the one used on the Mars mission. Apparently looking through the probes eyes missed things that a Human on site picked up. zdnet.com Mentioned a new group formed to study settlement of mars: marssociety.org
