You're right, Ritalin is a stimulant. What was required I can't recall, it's used for hyperactive children. Zones a normal child and they do have better test scores as they are more focused. It's kind of a status thing now to have your kids on this stuff, like braces were in the 60s. The downside is that it hampers the kids ability to have fun.
