I believe the buy out rumor is an over reaction to the "fact" that SYQT has been talking to Seagate about a "strategic alliance" where Seagate does contract manufacturing along with them taking a financial stake in SYQT.

On the plus side for SYQT, it appears they're making headway getting an increase in the bank line of credit while the "strategic alliances" are worked out.
