G'day all - dear Paul, you asserted, "... Everybody knows devaluation is imminent...."
I think that is what makes the world so interesting, that not everybody, unless Lawrence and I are nobody at all <VBG>, has the same opinion. Regarding the speculators, IMHO, while one certainly should not underestimate their resolve, it'd be a mistake to think they are an inflexible bunch, let alone the amateur gamblers who will invariably plow their gambling windfall back to the gambling house. Rather, I'd rather accept someone else <Zeev's?> argument that the HKD, regardless of reasons, is weak and therefore prone to attract the attacker's attention. If the scavengers have to put up a fight, they may very well try to find easier prey. Afterall, these guys are all over the map.
Btw, I was out for awhile and have tried to catch up with all the posts, in your other post you ve mentioned a friend of yours {in HK} testimonies, I am curious if he is chinese or fluent in chinese (cantonese or mandarin <or the local would call - common speak <G>>.)
