I signed on to the "Bring Your Own Access" plan on AOL whereby I would pay a flat monthly rate of $9.95 for unlimited AOL access through my ISP.

Although my sole source of access has been through my ISP for several months now, AOL still charged me something called "Comm Surcharges" from December 1 to December 5, despite the fact that I did not call AOL direct, which would be the only cause for these charges.

I have spoken with three other people who describe the same problem that I faced. AOL has not made any public comment on the matter, although it has apparently affected a great number of people so far. It's a problem because the charges have already been billed to the credit cards of many people, including me.

Has anyone else here experienced the "Comm Surcharge" problem on their bill?
