Mike, the 5.5 figure was from the American Petroleum Institute, an industry lobbying group while the 6.8 was from the Energy Information Administration, a federal government agency within the Dept of Energy. They frequently differ. Lets hope that the EIA numbers are more current since they came out a day later.

Is there anyone who can search for the API numbers on Tuesday after market close ? They are extremely difficult to find thru the usual news sources. Bloomberg's seems to be the best source. We need to get the entire article copied and pasted here not just the crude numbers but also gasoline and distillate. I've tried to get a subscription to Bloomberg's but I can't seem to register thru their website.

TIA,
John
