Don't be too surprised to see $18 oil in October.

First of all, I'd love to see even $15 oil by October and $18 would be a gift. The thing I don't think is being factored in correctly is Latin America. Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil are all having trouble with their currency. It will be very tempting for them to pump to get hard currency in the near future and to aid in their balance of payments problem. CDG took a bit hit when Venezuela curbed production plans, if they renew those plans...

The wild card is Iraq. If the UN stops humanitarian aid for oil program that would go a long way toward stemming the flow.

I'd love to see OPEC work in their own self interest, but recent history is not a promising measure.
