So what? The robber barons won? Do you believe they would
vote for nationalization? TNT has 30% dividend according to Yahoo.
Definitely better (so far) than frozen bonds. You will get your
investment back quickly, if there is no hyperinflation.
Devaluation will reduce their costs, they will sell oil
at world prices. Russian stocks cost nothing according to
any traditional valuation measures. It looks like the
crisis is going to continue for a while (the worst is yet to come), but I'm watching TNT. It is risky to be short at these
valuations, IMO (unless you believe that the country will be dead
for years to come). The Russian market cap is very small, and
will react very quickly to any buying.
