Gary, in this market it appears that everything but Dell is a "stinky stock to sell short." ;0}

My experience with this screen is that there are good short candidates here but often by the time they make the list they are already quite extended and can snap back in your face. You may have to hold them awhile (i.e. have good margin support for your short). Recent examples for me include PRTL, OMPT, SRCM. All of these stocks were on the stinky list about 2 months ago. I shorted PRTL at 16, OMPT at 19 and SRCM at 15. SRCM I covered at 19 as it started a move to 41, then reshorted at 19 on its way down to 7 1/2 (covered today at 8). PRTL & OMPT both ran to near 30, then back down to mid-low teens. I've also covered both of these stocks at a profit. During these runs VV moved the stocks from S to H but not to B. All three are on the stinky list again at these levels. They may continue down from here but the more profitable call would have been to short them at their recent peaks, not at these levels. VV won't necessarily help you do that.

After using VV for several months, my experience is that if you want VV to support trading decisions, it often is late to the party. Therefore the best approach, IMO, is to combine VV with a decent TA program. I use AIQ. Use VV to identify the stocks & AIQ to help with the timing.
