Here here Brian. AMAT will be stronger the longer the chips are down because everyone else will have even less money and market share to last while business is slow. AMAT has more staying power due to their size and R&D ; others like LAM etc. will have a hard time surviving the tough times. When times are rough, there is consolidation and small players back out.

IN short, the longer the chip market stays down the more attractive AMAT becomes. That is, when the recovery occurs AMAT will have just that much more market share (no one left to compete with them).
