Dear Gregor, what a interesting subject, the burden aspect of prayer. In a sentence, I believe the very LAST thing God wants to hear is that someone who understands prayer as it is meant to be understood thinks he should back off a little, maybe, and not over do it. If anything, I would think the times require almost the opposite in every way, don't you think?
When God "lifts the burden" it seems that He also kind of tells the persons praying that the prayers are answered, and this feeling is hard to confuse with anything else. On the other hand, if the HOLY SPIRIT compels anyone to keep praying for a matter, the answer there is obvious.
To ignore those feelings ends up quenching the Spirit, and little by little one can notice sadly that the HOly Spirit no longer encourages them to do anything, since the Holy Spirit doesn't seem to be around much any more.
My feeling about Amelia is that prayers, here for certain, as well as other places we don't know about, have been lifted to God the Father as instructed by Jesus the Son. We have not prayed mindlessly to Jesus, thinking it seems like the good thing to do, but everyone here seems to obediently lift these prayers exactly as instructed.
So, it would be wonderful to start to truly believe that a just and loving God would in fact do a huge miracle, and it is in process, as you say.
It's good to discuss these things. Prayer is about the least discussed activity on earth, and it should be one of the most discussed. I'm sure that even bringing it up for discussion sends the enemies of Jesus CHrist into absolute fits, as well it should.
Anyway, it is fact that the categories now in need of incessant prayer are almost mindnumbing.
Such perfect words have already been put out concerning the matters of our dependence upon God that the only thing that could be added is, even so, please come quickly, Lord Jesus. |
