Rudy, in exchange2000.com

Drew said "...Compaq has about 40-50 days of inventory vs. Dell's 8 days."

In exchange2000.com

Elwood asked "Are you saying that CPQ has 7 weeks of inventory??? I keep hearing 2-3 weeks. What is the source of your info.? Please post it here. El"

To which Drew replied in exchange2000.com "El, I said 40-50 days. If you look at the company's annual report (see link below), you can see for yourself that it is 42 days (Sales $2,202 million/ (cost of sales -$4,722 million/92 days in the quarter) = 42 days."

Nowhere in this exchange do I see the words channel inventory. In any event, inventory contained in the channel does not belong to Compaq. If it does, then there is a real problem with its accounting system.
