A tribute to Java's success is that this has to be said at all. You'll never hear anyone (intelligent) say, "We need to convert everything to Visual C++ on NT". Java is really, really useful. I write networked apps now that I run on several flavors of UNIX and under Windows, even on totally different hardware architectures, all without even a recompile. That is definitely a useful tool. It's a shame that people who want to say that "Java is useless" have to back all the way up to the point of saying, "Well, it won't solve all your computing problems." Good grief. Mike
