Thanks for that report on ISI. I also find this information regarding
Tagore's birthday celebration at the U.N in India Abroad.

Here is an excerpt from the article.

Referring to his own career as an international bureaucrat, Tharoor amusingly contrasted Tagore's own vision of internationalism with the role of such bodies as the U.N. and its predecessor, the League of Nations, consisting as they were of representatives of aggressive nationalistic powers that ruled over the fate of humanity. Tharoor said that to Tagore, mankind needed to be saved from these very bullies. To put such world organizations in charge of mankind's fate was like entrusting policing to a bunch of felons. The comparison, made as it was within the precincts of the U.N., brought down the house with laughter.
