Your basically predicting the end of Russia as we know it

Yes, although not tomorrow. The following is the classical Russian socio-economic cycle:

1) widespread corruption and/or military adventures;

2) economic collapse (where we are today);

3) civil unrest and political disintegration (where your best investment is a bomb shelter);

4) dictatorship;

5) dramatic changes in property ownership (i.e. nationalization of basic industries);

That the vodka breath appears to be negotiating an orderly transfer of power to the red-browns ought to be viewed as a short-term positive for US stocks, since it has the potential to delay the onset of Step 3.

As to Russian "stocks", these are essentially worthless pieces of paper. You might as well trade magic cards.
