Uncle Frank and zurdo, here's my e-mail to the Producer of Squawk Box, sent at 8:02 am today A caveat, it was hastily done..could be better written. I think flickerful would draft another missile.
Sir/Madam,
As a longtime viewer of CNBC, and especially Squawk Box, and also a longtime and long-term investor of Pfizer (PFE), I would like to suggest that instead of focusing solely on the "Viagra deaths" news (as Maria Bartiromo had been doing all day yesterday, on news that were first out on Monday), that CNBC do some unbiased reporting, and start reporting some positive news as well. Examples of more up-to-date news-worthy items re. Pfizer are:
1) Australian Govt Approves Sale Of Viagra smartmoney.com
2) 08/27 02:36 PRESS DIGEST - United Arab Emirates - Aug 27 DUBAI, Aug 27 (Reuters) - GULF NEWS
- There is a huge demand for Viagra, which is due to go on sale officially in the UAE at the beginning of September. Pfizer <PFE.N> says 25,000 packs containing five pills each had been ordered. moneynet.com@NEWS-P1&Index=0&HeadlineURL=../News/NewsHeadlines.asp&DISABLE_FORM=
3) Pfizer's Viagra will be on sale in France from mid-October (Le Viagra de Pfizer sera en vente en France a partir de la mi-octobre) 08/26/98 Les Echos Page 7 Abstracted from Les Echos in French; Source: World Reporter (TM)
The medicine against impotence, Viagra, developed by American pharmaceuticals company Pfizer, is already in high demand in Asia and the US. Following the latest meeting of European scientific experts in Brussels, Viagra is expected to be officially authorised on 15 September in Europe.
The "love pill" is expected to be on sale in the European countries which did not ask for its refund by health authorities (Southern European countries, Belgium and France), a few weeks later. Pfizer France hopes to sale the product in France from the middle of October, leaving the company enough time to print instruction leaflets and package the pills in its Amboise factory Indre-et-Loire region).
