It is helpful to learn from the extremes sometimes. Russia shows what happens if you cut taxes so far that government cannot function. (I know, technically they didn't cut taxes, they just never got organized enough to collect them). Still when I hear from the Newt and Lott camps that we need to cut taxes until the bureaucracy crumbles, I always wonder who or what will jump up to fill the power vacuum before the government is right-sized. TP (Who pays more taxes than a Russian village but wouldn't trade places with them).
