Rand,

Placer claims can be claimed by from one to eight individuals. For each individual there is 20 acres. So, the maximum claim size is 160 acres. The fee for renewal is based on number of claims and not acerage. I know the fee is at least $100 per claim and I think their is an additional filing fee of $17 per claim.

The money is due on Aug. 31. I assume as with the IRS that as long as the most mark is Aug. 31, that would be ok, but I am not sure.

There is absolutely no grace period.

Tim

PS I don't know whose name the IPM claims are in. However, these claims can not be in a corporation's name because a corporation is just like an individual and can only hold 20 acre claims. This is why all of Maxam's claims are in the names of Runyon and his family memebers. If Maxam plans to hold Black Rock, they will have to pay all of those fees also.
