Derek,

But what if the nuclear warhead start flying? Or a treat will do the trick.

This is the dumbest argument that the media is using to grab headlines. Do you really think the Russians are still in the cold war era? Who are they going to shoot? And finally, let us just assume they are crazy and start pushing those red buttons, I don't think I will be worried about my stock portfolio. Being in San Diego, I will be too busy packing to get away from the military bases.

If you think HKMA was the sole source of the 1000 point pop in HS index, IMHO you are dreaming. Just take a look at Nikkei.

It is obvious you don't know what is going on. I am not guessing. Try reading SCMP or any Asian papers before you suggest someone else is dreaming. It has a tendency to demonstrate ones ignorance.

it is actually good for the world economy right now when over capacity is the main problem. We should consider how much raw material will be needed to rebuild the damage.

True to a certain extent. China had targeted a US$750 billion cap spending for 5 years. This is a very ambitious goal, counting on a lot of foreign investments which may not materialize now. The flood could save China a lot of demolition cost for areas planned for redevelopment anyway. However, the damage may be beyond that point now and may be draining already scarce resources for the growth plan.

In the mean time, AMAT 28 in under attack. There are a ton of buy orders at 28 on my level II screen. If it blows through, then we look for 26ish support. My guess is investor sentiments have turned. There are more "sell on rally" rather than "buy on dips" mentality now.
