Giving more money to Russia now does not make sense - aftr
so much western aid was distributed through "channels" instead
of supporting teachers, pensioners, etc., especially after
Yeltsin fired Kiriyenko. I have looked at RTS - this is a dead
market (shares are sold at, say, 0.01, bought at 10 - look
yourself rtsnet.ru), still goes down due to the
most liquid shares, on which spreads are less. There are no
buyers, and selling prices are very low. Maybe, if the aid is
stopped, Russia will be forced to reform. Nationalization
is unlikely - people who created this change of government are
those with money - not interested in it.
