To be honest, I do not think it would be beneficail if Benson left. He is a great asset and would be a fine CEO if he would prune his organization of these types and hire more D'August types. But he has to demand accountability and he has to demand execution and he has to allow mistakes. Once you have been villified in that type of environment and survive, you never take a chance again. Risk taking using common sense is what makes companies successful, recognizing and rewarding those who take command and move their business is the only way the culture will change. Benson must come to peace with that. To date he has not.
