What is value? Value takes shape as its variables mix together at the moment of potential exchange. By way of example; I enter the Gap store conditioned by my historical experience to pay $40 for a shirt.
The fact that the Gap cost for subject shirt has dropped from $20 to $10 matters not until the market reveals this truth to me and/or I am no longer able to pay $40 for subject shirt. Value changes when the market discloses to me that Yahoo is overpriced and/or I can no longer afford its purchase. Abbey is extrapolating her knowledge about money flows into the market in concert with her awareness of low unemployment to establish her opinion of value. When the money flows slow down and unemployment goes up Abbey will probably see value taking on a new shape.
