Along those same lines..... Lets become a real Information Service Provider "ISP". As a service we can provide a Network Computer "$500", a High Speed xDSL modem "$1,500"/ "lease the line for $18 a month", and provide some real services other then just WWW access,Chat groups and E-mail. Lets provide the basics also, like MS word, MS powerpoint, Video Phone, VOD,..,.,,., and games since the NC doesn't have a hard-disk drive.
Lets partner with MSFT, Sun/Oracle, AMTX/WSTL, MCI to provide the hardware at a price that we all could make money. The general public will have a cheap "X-terminal" type device, that doesn't require a computer expert to fix the config.sys file, autoexec.bat file, win.ini file, system.ini file, or load software for virus protection, or create backups for that hard-disk crash. The users will save their information at our ISP location, we will worry about backups, virus protection, getting the upgrade for MS word... and so on...until later.... |
