And in your opinion the "right thing" would be to drop Ciena like a hot potato? This might have the short-term result of temporarily increasing the price of the stock, but long-term it would make TLAB less competitive, far less cutting-edge, and ultimately less valuable from an investment point of view.

No, the right thing to do is to pick up Ciena at .8 or so, discounted for market stupidity, and start swinging for the fences. Headlines: "New and Improved Tellabs gives AT&T/Lucent An Optical Enima"
