thanks for you reply. From your reply it is obvious that we have been talking from different points of view. My original starter to this discussion was a reply to Space Wimp's projection that the DOW would see 7000 in the short term. Your projections are possible long term scenarios.
However judging by todays' market performance, 7000 for the DOW may soon become a reality, heaven forbid !!!

I may be taking a somewhat naive point of view here, but can anyone explain to me how this "crisis" in Russia affects the stock price of each and every 7000 odd listed US stock???

Foreign trade with Russia is sub 1%. I can hardly think of a company or industry who is going to get burnt by the devalued Rubel exchange rates.

The only guys who may feel an itch are a few (mainly German)banks who have granted credits to Russia and some insurance companies who stand guarantee for these loans.

I'm probably being blue eyed naive again, and if so, would someone point out the flaw in my thinking-PLEASE.
