Gunnar,

However the war turns out, it seems clear to me that:

1. Kabila must step down or allow supervised democratic elections as soon as feasible. He has no credibility.

2. The assets confiscated by the Kabila Kleptocracy from Banro must be returned ASAP. See newswire.ca
I doubt that the stolen equipment can be recovered or that there's money to pay for it, but they can give Banro a credit against royalties.

3. Even if point 2. is settled, there will be few companies willing to invest in central Africa.

4. If the rebels or the Angolans disable or destroy Inga, forget about Tenke. (unless power is available from another source?)

5. As you state, this is a continuation of the Rwandan war. Therefore, this has been a long war. I think it will be very much longer while dictators rule central Africa.

Peace, Gofer
